Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is designed to include children in the liturgy and create a sense of belonging. CLOW is primarily for children in grades 1st through 5th. For our younger disciplies, we have an awsome Sunday Preschool Program that meets during the 9am Mass. Children who participate in CLOW leave the church after the Opening Prayer and go to the Grill Hall in a procession. They are led by a child carrying the Children's Lectionary. In the Hall, we do all of the things that are done in the main assembly including reading scripture, singing, listening to a homily (our's is more interactive!), participating in an activity relevant to the message of that day, and offering prayers of the faithful. All of the readings, homilies, and prayers are age and developmentally appropriate to facilitate a better understanding and appreciation of the value of God's word. We don't just preach to them; instead we ask questions about the readings and try to help the children apply their understanding of the readings to their own lives. Check back soon for more information on changes to CLOW and how you can be a part of our team.
